Conical Springs

Conical (tapered) compression springs made to your top and bottom diameters.
Illustration of conical springs

Because each coil of a conical spring is a different diameter, the coils can nest into one another when compressed. The spring takes up less space at full load and is less likely to buckle than a straight spring of the same length.

Pitch can be kept constant or varied to give a progressive load, where the spring gets stiffer as it is compressed.

Features

  • Low solid height: coils telescope into each other
  • More stable than a straight spring of the same length
  • Progressive load possible with variable pitch
  • Made to your top and bottom diameters
